Bay 00 — the ranking
Twenty-nine SaaS link building agencies, scored on what they publish rather than on what they claim: the rates on their own pricing pages, the link quality floors they commit to in writing, and how much of their named client work is actually software. Eleven of them publish no price at all, which is itself the finding.
Colour = what the agency publishes about price

Bay 05 — the manual
Link building is the only part of SaaS SEO that is still bought as a commodity and priced as a consultancy. The same buyer who would never sign a $6,000 monthly retainer for content without seeing a sample will sign one for links on the strength of a logo wall. The fix is not scepticism, it is knowing which questions have published answers.
Three things separate an agency you can evaluate from one you can only trust. First, a published rate. Eighteen of the twenty-nine agencies on this page print a number; eleven do not. That is not a moral failing, but it does mean the only way to compare them is to run a sales process, and the cost of that process is yours. Second, a link quality floor: the minimum Domain Rating the agency commits to for what it places. Thirteen publish one. Without it, "high authority" is a word, not a specification. Third, evidence the agency has actually worked on software: a service page built for SaaS rather than a paragraph mentioning it, and named clients you can look up.
Below roughly $150 a link, you are buying placement on sites that exist substantially to sell placements. That market is real, it is large, and it works for volume plays where the individual link does not matter much. It is a poor fit for a SaaS company whose category has forty competitors and a buyer who reads.
Between about $150 and $400 a link, you are buying outreach: a person pitching real sites, with a floor attached. Most of the per-link agencies here sit in this band, and it is where the price-to-quality curve is steepest. Ask what share of placements are paid versus earned, because both live in this band and they are different products.
Above roughly $2,500 a month on retainer, you stop buying links and start buying a strategy that produces them: digital PR, data studies, positioning that earns coverage without a payment. This is where the SaaS specialists cluster, and where the case studies get specific. It is also where minimum terms appear. Six-month commitments are common in this band, and a six-month commitment to an untested agency is the single most expensive mistake available to you.
The entry price tells you what a test costs. The minimum term tells you what a mistake costs, and the two are frequently very different numbers. Of the agencies here that publish anything at all about commitment, the range runs from an explicit "none, month to month" through three-month initial engagements to a flat six months. One agency's own pricing page states both a three-month term on its tiers and a six-month term in its small print, which is worth reading twice before signing either.
The useful comparison is not price against price. It is minimum spend against time to first evidence. A $37 link with no commitment and a $5,000 monthly retainer with a six-month term are not two points on one scale; they are different products bought for different reasons. If you cannot yet describe what success looks like in your own analytics, buy the cheap countable thing first and learn what a link is worth to you before committing to a year of them.
Almost every agency in this market will tell you it works with SaaS. Ten of the twenty-nine here run a service page actually built for it. That gap is the whole reason this ranking weights specialisation highest. The check takes two minutes: open the agency's client list and count how many of the named companies sell software. If the answer is none, the SaaS page is a landing page, and you will be the client teaching them your category.
Every figure on this page comes from Ahrefs or from the agency's own site, with the date it was read. Where an agency publishes nothing, the cell says so rather than carrying an estimate. The weights behind the score are published in full, along with the company-by-company client classification that drives the largest of them, so the ranking can be disagreed with on its criteria rather than on its conclusions.
That is the whole method, and it is deliberately boring. There is no panel of experts, no editorial shortlist and no rating anyone phoned in. There are 29 SaaS link building agencies, seven published criteria, and a number that falls out of them. If the output looks wrong to you, the argument worth having is about the weights, and they are one click away.
Of the 29 agencies here, 18 publish a rate. Per-link prices start at $37 and reach $900. Monthly retainers start at $800 and reach $15,000. The other 11 publish nothing, so their cost cannot be stated without inventing it, and this site does not.
Not reliably. An agency’s own DR is evidence that it can build links, not proof it will build the right ones for you. This ranking weights own authority at 15 per cent for that reason, behind SaaS specialisation and published pricing. Siege Media has the highest DR here at 79 and ranks 15th, because it publishes neither pricing nor a link quality floor.
A DR floor is the minimum Domain Rating an agency commits to for the links it places. Thirteen of the 29 publish one; the strictest is Outreach Monks at DR 60 to 95. It matters because it is the only published number that constrains what you actually receive. We can read what an agency publishes; we cannot audit whether it is enforced, and this site never claims otherwise.
Per-link buys a countable deliverable and is easier to stop. A retainer buys strategy and continuity, and usually a higher floor. Seven agencies here sell per-link, seven on retainer, three publish both, and one publishes only a range. If you have never bought links before, the per-link agencies let you test the work for the price of one placement.
Where agencies state it, the range is wide: 5 days to first placements at the fast end, 3 to 6 months for meaningful traffic movement at the considered end, and one agency states 90-day sprints. Turnaround to placement and time to result are different numbers, and agencies often quote the first when asked the second.
This ranking uses three published signals: a service page dedicated to SaaS, the share of named clients that are software companies, and SaaS case studies on that page. Ten of the 29 run a dedicated SaaS page. The client classification is published company by company, so any individual call can be checked.
SerpsGrowth holds position 2 and Inbound Blogging position 4. Both are operated by people connected to the publisher, both are marked FIXED wherever the ranking appears, and both display the same computed score as everyone else. Their scores would place them 2nd and 1st on merit, but the positions are fixed regardless and the disclosure stands.
Ahrefs metrics and every agency page were last read on 1 September 2026. Four sites block automated reading and carry their previous date, shown on the profile rather than hidden. Every figure on this site has a checked date attached to it.
